Mother Model Management

Mother Model Management has been the most important agency relationship in my St. Louis work. They represent some of the strongest talent coming out of the Midwest, and they understand editorial photography in a way a lot of regional agencies don't. When they give you a model for a session, they give you the creative latitude that work like this actually requires.

This project is a multi-model editorial built across a studio day with Sophia, Julia, and Linzy. The styling was loose — slip dresses, coats, studio neutrals. The goal wasn't a uniform editorial but a showcase of three different performers inside the same photographic vocabulary. Each model got their own direction and their own time. You can read the personality differences in the frames if you look carefully.

Controlled studio lighting throughout. Medium format digital. The retouching standard is the same as everything else I make — honest skin, honest tone, the smallest possible intervention. The 90s-slip-dress styling on Sophia is its own aesthetic reference point, but the deeper reference is always Peter Lindbergh: a model allowed to be a person, a camera that doesn't flatter.

Mother Model sends models on location, to Tokyo tests, to campaigns. This kind of editorial is part of how they build those portfolios and how I build mine. It's a good partnership.
